Milan has four candidates for the Coach
According to a joint statement by Milan Sport's reporter, Alessandra Gozzini, and Milan correspondent Luca Bianchini, even winning the upcoming Milan derby wouldn't salvage Pioli's fate. Their lackluster performance in the Europa League against Roma was the final straw.
The club is currently seeking a foreign coach with a distinct playing style, adept at working with young players, and aligned with the club's ambitions: ambitious yet sustainable, fostering growth in their young twenties. Two candidates have been recommended: Lopetegui, previously sacked from Wolves, and Fonseca, whose contract with Lille expires this summer. Additionally, former Paris Saint-Germain coach Galtier and Al Gharafa's coach Galatas are potential candidates. However, the ultimate decision rests with Ibrahimovic, whose approval of these candidates remains uncertain as they might not fit Milan's traditional image.
Conte is not a concrete option; although interested in Milan, his demands for high salary and working with experienced players might not align with the club's current direction. Lopetegui has reportedly turned down a Premier League club, preferring Milan. For Fonseca, the former Roma coach, there's no reason to refuse returning to Italy.
